Clever, clever children

This week is a busy one...and an oh so important one, as we celebrate our risen Savior, who conquered death and redeemed us!

We'll be at our church every night this week practicing for our Easter services. So in order to save myself time and use as little brain power as possible I'll be writing posts that don't require much of those things. Any hecklers need not point out that that's a pretty common occurrence.
I saw this on several people's blogs and facebook's and since I really wanted needed a blog post for today, here are Babes and Buddy's (Monster can't form sentences yet) clever little answers...

My comments in italics.

1. What is something your mom always says to you?

Babes: I love you and get your shoes on.
Buddy: I love you and brush your teeth.

Pretty sure not used in the same sentence usually, but glad that the first answer was the most important "I love you" instead of the broken record of "shoes, teeth, bed, backpacks, coats" I feel like much of the time.

2. What makes your mom happy?

Babes: When I say "I love you" all the day. Not edited....all the day.
Buddy: When I say nice things.

So true. So true.

3. What makes your mom sad?

Babes: When she gets owies.
Buddy: When I don't do the right thing

How about when Mama doesn't do the right thing...

4. How does your mom make you laugh?

Babes: When daddy tickles her. Pretty sure she didn't listen to the question completely:) And actually, daddy's tickles hurt, I don't know how they stand it!
Buddy: By making silly jokes. If I'm telling a joke, it most definitely is silly. Notice we did not say funny.

5. What was your mom like as a child?

Babes: (she heard the word "like" and couldn't past the fact that I probably "liked" toys.)
Buddy: A happy girl. Yes, I was. In spite of those very horrific awkward Jr. high years. And I will NOT post pictures!

6. How old is your mom?

Babes: 25
Buddy: 33

I much prefer Babes' answer, but sadly, Buddy's is true. Sure glad I didn't have to ask them what they thought I weighed...

7. How tall is your mom?

Babes: 16
Buddy: 70 inches

Can you tell Babes hasn't really worked on the whole measurement thing yet, or at least doesn't understand. Buddy, on the other hand, was only a few inches off. So, not too bad!

8. What is her favorite thing to do?

Babes: Go shopping with us.
Buddy: Go out on a date with daddy.

As much as I enjoy shopping, I most definitely would NOT rate shopping with kids as one of my top favorite things to do....cause playing referee, being Mama "the killer of dreams" (the one who says "no" to every plea for food or toy), and sweating as I herd walk through the store with 3 kids is NOT considered shopping.

However, Buddy's answer was pretty spot on. That and cuddle time with my babies when they're sleepy or actually sitting still long enough to do it.

Oh and I do enjoy me some fun in the sun.

9. What does your mom do when you're not around?

Babes: Clean the kitchen and dishes.
Buddy: Take care of Emma and Lincoln when I'm at school and work at home.

True on both counts.
Ok, who am I kidding. Sometimes I just sit and enjoy the quiet blog to my little heart's content.

10. If your mom becomes famous, what will it be for?

Babes: What's famous mean? No explanation really needed here.
Buddy: Using money to help other people. Awwww. I'm beaming! Now if I only had money...

11. What is your mom really good at?

Babes: Games and exercising. I almost choked on my own spit, when she said the word "exercise". but as long as I give the appearance of being good at it...
Buddy: Working at home and making good food. Can you tell he's boy on his way to teenager hood and then on his way to manhood? Nothing speaks love to a boy than good food. Now if I just had more of that money to keep it in the fridge and pantry:)

12. What is your mom not very good at?

Don't answer that. Oh fine...

Babes: Running. Slightly confused here. Good at exercise. Not at running. Which, I'm not gonna lie, is completely 100% true. Darn you people, and you know who you are, who make it look so easy. It's such a shame that driving my car to school, church, and practices and cooking and cleaning don't result in the same amount of calories burned.

Buddy: Playing basketball. I did play me some basketball back in the day, but....I wasn't very good.

13. What does your mom do for a job?

Babes: Work on her computer.
Buddy: Work on the computer.

Now if only I got PAID for "working" on the computer.

14. What is your mom's favorite food?

Babes: Vegetables, salad, sour cream. ???? sour cream? Very interesting, seeing as how we very rarely have sour cream. And she must not see me when I'm sneaking Nutella, chocolate, Mexican etc., my "other" favorite foods.

Buddy: Vegetables. Again with the vegetables. Don't get me wrong I do like me the veggies, but favorite? I guess in some things, but whatever keeps them believing and eating themselves.

15. What makes you proud of your mom?

Babes: When she vacuums. Well, hallelujah, but I thought sure it would be when I dust or mop.
Buddy: When she makes good food. What did I tell ya? Is he a growing bottomless pit boy or what?

16. If your mom were a cartoon character, who would she be?

Babes: Cinderella Hm. I sensing a theme here. Mopping, scrubbing, cooking, cleaning....my prince takes me away for the evening and then at midnight I turn into the maid again. I'm OK with that.
Buddy: Asoca from Star Wars Clone Wars. Feisty. I like it.

17. What do you and your mom do together?

Babes: Go shopping and clean up together. Yes, we mix business with pleasure.
Buddy: These questions. Cheeky.

18. How are you and your mom the same?

Babes: Our brown hair.
Buddy: In the same family (nothing like stating the obvious) and we're both nice. And humble, I might add.

19. How are you and your mom different?

Babes: I have darker eyes. The most amazing chocolate brown eyes you ever did see.
Buddy: We're not the same age. And thank you very much for pointing that out.

20. What does your mom like most about your dad?

Babes: Daddy is handsome and he's her wife. Hmmmm....wife? I laughed out loud. But YES, VERY handsome!
Buddy: That he cares about her and that he loves her. How do I argue with that?

21. How do you know your mom loves you?

Babes: She makes happy faces and she hugs and kisses me. All the time. And I will NEVER stop.
Buddy: Because I was her baby. I'll love you forever. I'll like you for always. As long as I'm living, my baby you'll be...

There was another one, but I just felt like after that question I really didn't need to continue...

I am a blessed mama.
