It's looking A LOT like Christmas and I haven't even blogged about Thanksgiving.

Hi.

I'll wait while you pick yourself up off the floor.

I AM alive. Just some days I don't know which end is up. I'm not saying today is any different, but I figured I should try and get Thanksgiving blogged about before the New Year came around.

(Is it just me or does the first blog post following a long break require all kinds of painful thinking, rethinking, writing, rewriting, and then a final oh-well-ing??)

Along with not really having time to blog, I haven't felt much like blogging either. GASP. Shocker, I know. I have, however, wanted to catch up on all the blogs that I like to read, but again with the time. I know you are all just waiting in anticipation for a comment from me. Ok, wait. Let me find my favorite pen so I can give myself a Realty Check. I recognize that is most likely not the case, but reading all y'all's (my grammatical abilities astound even me) blogs makes me feel like I just sat down with you over a cup of coffee (drowned in creamer, please) and a carmelita (or whatever else all you domestic divas have been cooking up) and caught up with your lives.

And since I know there are a handful of friends and family out there who want to get caught up on mine, I give you a post with insane amounts of photos (and parenthesis), a few mindless comments here and there, and whatever amounts of creativity (or not) I can pull out of whatever end happens to be up today (ok, that kind of sounded bad).

**************************

Betcha didn't know what Thanksgiving is about.

Well, besides thanks giving, that is.

It's about getting there....

9.5 hours of getting there...

But, boy, is it worth the drive...

It's about playing hard...
...sweet cheeks...
...and love.
It's about the devotion before the big meal, focusing on all Christ has done for us. Now that's something to be thankful for.
It's about LOTS of people...but not just any people...family.
It's about the big brother blaming it on the little brother....
...even though everyone knows it was Billy who ate the first bite of Uncle Joe's pie and tried to hide it. Which is really funny when it happens at Thanksgiving, but which I find not so funny when it happens at home...can you say OCD? Yes, I am. Self diagnosed, of course.
It's about sisters...
...and sisters who are friends...
It's about "life giving" amounts of food... ???????????
...and always about the men cleaning up afterward...
...and us watching!!!
It's about "angry faces"...?
...and " 'sup dude?"s.

It's about being plum tuckered out at the end of the day or the middle of the day or the beginning of the day...but all in the name of love fun.

Phew! Oh, I'm not done. Just thought you might need to stretch your legs or take a bathroom break or refill your eggnog.

I'll wait....

Round 2.

Thanksgiving is about....

the traditional Christmas tree farm trip...

...and Tias and Uncles...

...and sisters...

...and brothers....

...and Nanas and sons...

...and Nanas with candy...

...and more candy...:)

Oh yeah, and it's about the hunt for the Christmas tree...

...but also the rides...
...and the rides...

...and the rides...

...and the rides...

...and the rides...

...and the rides.

It's about love...

...and cute kids.
And it's about the lessons from Knuckle Joe about the art of choosing the right tree and how to properly cut it down...

...and about the victory!

That's what our Thanksgiving was about.
Now...

Why I'm leaving you with a most heinous picture of myself I'll never know. Except that the irony of some random chick in a small town, at a Denny's/Shari's/IHOP like restaurant, wearing the exact.same. clearanced Old Navy (which is about an hour away from this town) sweater as I am, made me laugh so hard that I just had to take a picture "with" her.

If you are one of the proud and the few that made it through this entire post you are cool.beans.

Phew, I am exhausted from all the uploading and waiting...and uploading and waiting....now if all those blood, sweat and tears could just burn off all those Thanksgiving calories.

I'm going to go rest up now in hopes that it's not Easter before I blog about anything Christmas related.

(Couldn't stand the thought of leaving a bad taste in your mouth with that last picture, so here you go.)

Welcome back. I love seeing the photos with everyone. Looks like you had an incredible time. How many were there for Thanksgiving? One more question to add to your "to do" list"...did you find the matching sweater chick at Perkos?

I want to go wherever you went - it looks stunningly gorgeous.

And seeing men do the dishes isn't half shabby either.

I'm a little late on the trigger finger with this whole blog reading thing...

BUT....

I'm with CPQ....men in the kitchen....as it should be, hon. As it should be.

And GORGEOUS scenery. Hey...your trees look HUGE out there! ;)

Those are some seriously great pictures!! You've been to busy living a great life to blog it...that's not a bad problem to have. We'll be here when the holidays are over and the stuff's put away.
