Word of God Wednesday

Lately as I've looked around I have become so much more aware of increasing hurt, pain, and trials in this world. This world is lost, yet those who have put their faith in Christ are saved from it! Our hope, joy, peace, and rest are found in Him and only Him. Our circumstances in life might change or become seemingly unbearable, but ONE THING REMAINS. God. Period.

"Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the Lord his God,
the Maker of heaven and earth,
the sea, and everything in them-
the Lord, who remains faithful forever."
Psalm 146:5,6

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today and forever."
Hebrews 13:8

"We wait in hope for the Lord;
he is our help and our shield.
In him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name.
May your unfailing love rest upon us,
O Lord,
even as we put our hope in you."
Psalm 33:20-22

I heard this song on Air1 this morning. It was new to me, but the truths in it are NOT new and they remain.

The Wrecking - You Remain
From the album A New Abolition

I watched you fall
Like I didn't care at all
Thinking myself great thinking you so small
A window to my soul reveals a breaking wall
As the pieces of it fall
I'm hearing you call

Broken down and you never made a sound
I'm reaching out
Will you pull me from the ground

You loved me before I knew your name
Sometimes this world just seems so strange
No matter how things seem to change
You Remain You Remain

Minutes tic tock by and hours pass
And a peaceful smile has found my lips at last
No matter if this world is spinning slow or fast
I'm safe in this shadow you cast

Broken down can I give you back your crown
I'm reaching out
Will you pull me from the ground

You loved me before I knew your name
Sometimes this world just seems so strange
No matter how things seem to change
You Remain You Remain
Jesus You Remain
Jesus You Remain
Jesus You Remain

------------------------

He knows our names, he knows our every thoughts, he sees each tear that falls, and hears us when we call....

My hope is in that.

Praise The Lord that we can put our trust in Him, and Him alone!

Thanks for the reminder to not put our trust in things of this world!

I think when we allow our circumstances to dictate our hope, we've taken our focus off the One who is our Hope.

Our circumstances will change. They may get better. They may get worse. But our Hope remains the same.

Thanks for your reminders today.
