10 favorite things about this Mother's Day weekend

I'm joining my friend, Mer's, carnival today...and I even got it posted on the 10th!! ...unlike this time.

I seem to be fresh out of original these days, so I hope you don't mind if I just share some of the things I loved most about my weekend.

1) The beginning of this full, but good weekend, just "the girls" went to soccer. I soaked up the sun (tired of me talking about the sun, yet?) while watching the cutest girl on the field run and dribble and...cop a squat on a cone???? Hmmm...the things that I could once do, that would cause such pain now... I did, however, lay down on the ground to get this shot! That's good, right?!

2) A first. First born. First race. First grade. First runner. Tied for first place in my heart.

3) We live in a beautiful city, where (the beauty) can even be found along a busy, downtown street...

4) A boy and his "PaPa! PaPa! PaPa!"...

5) In the middle of a busy day, taking the time to have our lunch at the park, enjoy the sun, and watch the kids play. My hubby's foot in the middle is a nice touch, don't you think? I've been told by others that he has sexy feet. I'm being completely serious. And I would have to agree...TMI?

6) Watching my "baby", because he's not such a baby anymore. Loving the fact that he loves hummus. Bemoaning the fact that this next week he turns 2...

7) The grin on my nephew's face as his Uncle teaches him how to throw and catch a ball for the first time. It made my heart swell. It was priceless...

8) My grandma, my kid's great-grandma, and the mama of my mama...come from way over yonder in Arkansas. Isn't she sweet? We'll miss you when you go back to the land of fried okra.;)

9) ALL the cousins. Together. They had a great time. All 8 of them!

10) My Mother's Day gift from my firstborn. He was so proud when he brought it home from school all wrapped up. And I immediately fell in love with his creation and adamantly decided it would be framed.

The homemade, love-filled gifts mean so much to me...and an occasional kid free, no time limit trip to Target, of course:).

I hope you all had as good of a Mother's Day and weekend as I did!

I love you Mom!
I love you Grandma!
I love my kids that make me a mom!
I love you Billy (who helped make me a mama;))...thanks for letting me sleep in:)

That is one blue sky in those pictures!

I would frame that picture! Truly, I love it! And I love Stacy's pita chips. And hummus....Mmmm...

I make it a habit not to comment on friends' husbands' feet.

Are you making fun of fried okra? Because that would just be wrong.

I cannot comment on feet when there's an open bag of Stacy's Pita Chips to be had.

I thought this was a great list, Cathy!

LOVE that your son did so great at his race (my kids are runners too!) and that pic of your daughter on the cone made me laugh.

You do live in a beautiful place! I was happy to see some green in your pics...hoping things start greening up around here pretty soon.

Your grandmother is beautiful!!!

And your weekend sounds like it was wonderful.

Happy (belated) Mother's Day.

That sunflower picture is gorgeous! Begs a frame, immediately. Oh, hummus, how I love thee. I shall count the ways. Or not. But still. I like it.

And picnics.

And lazin' with the fam.

And track meets. Our first was last week. Good times.

What a fun weekend. Being a mom truly is the best and you can't understand exactly how amazing it is until you are actually doing it. Then you look around at these crazy kids and realize you are the luckiest most blessed person on earth because of them. I can tell you truly love it.

What a great list! I was wondering why you didn't add that you won one of the gifts at church yesterday?! AJ told me you were the lucky winner for 2nd service! Awesome! And I like French Press too if you wanna friend to take :)

I am one of the ones who says Billy has er, um, "nice" feet, especially for a man. I would never say "sexy," because I just can't describe someone besides my husband being that way.
But, feet in the middle of a cute kiddo picnic...not so cute, HA!

PS. Can you believe how old our babies will be tomorrow :( :(

Yes, there are several who comment on his feet.:) You say "nice", a couple others say "sexy", he DOES have handsome feet for a guy! (handsome feet?) People are going to think we're crazy!

and NO!!! I can NOT believe how old our babies are going to be!! It's happening too fast!!! Wasn't it just yesterday that ASPEN was born?! *sign* ...it makes me a little sad, too.:(

I meant "sigh" not sign. Not sure what you would sign there...:)
